Meet Aeshna Our Founder
Aeshna Gupta Entrepreneur, Fashion Enthusiast
Yellow Pickle is the brainchild of Aeshna Gupta, a passionate advocate for slow fashion and sustainable practices. . Inspired by her fashion-forward mother and her sister’s love for anti-fit clothing and cultural diversity, Aeshna aims to bring handloom elegance to fashion lovers worldwide, celebrating local artisans’ artistry!
OUR STORY
“Yellow Pickle was born in the wake of the COVID pandemic as I returned to my roots in Kolkata.”- Aeshna Gupta
The name “Yellow Pickle”, much like pickles, is a combination. Yellow happens to be the favourite colour of my two boys. And, the ubiquitous Indian pickle, a mix of ingredients that packs a punch- much like our eclectic designs.
Our logo is partly inspired by a short story where a dragonfly chanced upon a handcrafter’s haven. Just like that dragonfly, you can find a beautiful textile blend of tradition and fresh threads!
We collaborate exclusively with local artisans specialising in batik, shibori, block prints, Kantha and embroidery.
Our Sarees, Shirts, Kurtas and more are made sustainably. We utilise leftover materials for patchwork products, toys, bunting and bags, ensuring minimal waste.
